Lumina Select ATS Improvements
On Saturday 30 May 2026, we updated the Lumina Select Applicant Tracker System to complete some standard maintenance. We have also introduced some improvements to the backend technology and the user experience for your organisation.
The primary purpose of the update was to rewrite the ATS technology using React (the current industry standard for web-based products and experiences), as this helps the Lumina Learning team to future-proof the system and prepare for further updates.
We also took this opportunity to improve the speed of the system, and tidy up some elements of the user experience for you. To keep this rewrite simple, the general functionality remains the same for now, but your organisation will find the system faster and easier to use.

What's changed?
- The ATS system is now written in a future-proof code base (React)
- The backend systems are now much faster (this speeds up data syncing, Lumina Select profiles loading, and more)
- The user interface style has been reviewed and updated to improve text legibility, colour contrasts, and overall accessibility
- The user experience has been simplified where possible to improve general usability without engaging in a major redesign. There are many small changes but we'll highlight some below:
- The Applicant List component has been simplified to make bulk actions (like moving multiple applicants and sending feedback reports) clearer
- Some buttons and functions that were previously unlabelled now have clear text labels, as is best practise
- The "Dashboard" tab has been removed so that users get straight to the most important information when first opening a Position
- Previously many settings and functions were divided across different tabs, much of these have been consolidated into one Settings area
If you are looking for the Export to .CSV function (to export the Applicant data for a Position) that feature now sits within Settings > Applicant Settings, then scroll to the bottom of the settings.
As mentioned above this is not a radical redesign, but it does enable the Lumina Learning product team to make further improvements in future for you and your organisation, and will make your experience of using Lumina Select ATS easier to use in the meantime.
