How do I delete a Splash from the Lumina Splash app?

Learn how to remove Splash data from the Lumina Splash app

Starting November 10th, you’ll find two versions of the Lumina Splash app available for download: our new and enhanced app (initially in English, with additional languages coming soon), and the previous app (still accessible in most languages, now called Lumina Splash Legacy). The previous app will remain available for a transition period to support other languages and allow users ample time to adopt the new version.

In our new Lumina Splash app (available from Nov 10th) we've added new deletion tools to enable users to delete individual Splashes, as well as multiple. In our previous app these tools did not exist so users had to delete all data stored by their app. If you are looking to delete all data stored by either the new app or the previous app you can click here to follow the previous app instructions below.

For Participants

If you are a Participant user (users who are not qualified Lumina Learning Practitioners) you can delete Splashes from your Splash Gallery simply by opening the Splash you wish to delete, scrolling down, and tapping Delete from Splash Gallery. A warning message will appear to check that you are sure of your intent to delete this Splash, selecting Yes, delete this Splash will delete the Splash in question.

For Practitioners

If you are a qualified Lumina Learning Practitioner signed into your Lumina Account, we've also enabled a bulk deletion tool accessible from the Splash Gallery, so that you can delete multiple Splashes more quickly. Follow these steps:

  1. Go to your Splash Gallery
  2. Tap the menu icon in the top right to open the Extra Options menu
  3. Tap Delete Splashes
  4. The bulk deletion mode will activate enabling you to delete the Splashes you want
  5. A warning message will appear for each Splash deletion to prevent accidental deletion

The instructions below pertain to the previous app (Lumina Splash Legacy), and the new app if you are looking to clear all data stored

If you are a participant, you can remove your Splash and any Splashes that you have scanned from the Lumina Splash app by following the steps below. This will reset your Lumina Splash app and allow you to start again.
It is unfortunately not currently possible to remove or update a single Splash in the Lumina Splash app. Instead, all Splash data must be removed.
The steps you follow will depend on the type of device you use. Currently, the Lumina Splash app is available on Android and iOS devices.

 Android devices

The instructions below may differ slightly depending on your device's make and model. You can search online for instructions specific to your device.

To remove Splash data from Android devices, follow the steps below to clear all data from the Lumina Splash app. This will not uninstall the app from your device, meaning no reinstallation is needed.

All data stored in the Lumina Splash app will be deleted, including your own Splash and any Splashes you have scanned.

  1. Navigate to the Settings menu on your Android device.
  2. Select Apps.
  3. Select the Lumina Splash app.
  4. Select Storage.
  5. Select Clear data.
  6. To start using the Lumina Splash app again, open the and add your Splash by following these instructions.

If you wish to delete your Splash data and totally uninstall the app from your device, follow steps 1-3 above, then select Uninstall.

iOS devices

To remove Splash data from iOS devices, follow the steps below to uninstall the Lumina Splash app from your device. If you wish to continue using the Lumina Splash app, you must reinstall it from the App Store.

  1. Navigate to the Settings menu on your iOS device.
  2. Select General.
  3. Select Storage and iCloud usage.
  4. Select the Lumina Splash app.
  5. Select Delete app. (Note: if you select the option 'Offload App' your Splash app data will be saved to your device and will be automatically imported into the app if you reinstall it later. You should not use this option if you want to delete your Splash data).
  6. To start using the Lumina Splash app again, reinstall the app from the App Store (to download, click here).
  7. Open the Lumina Splash app and add your Splash by following these instructions.
